Hello! A little advice re auto boxes?

Yes, as above the Rod Grainger manual gets it every time. Mine is a 2002 reprint, titled Mazda MX-5 1.6 litre Enthusiast’s Workshop Manual. It has healthy sections dedicated to the auto transmission, never fitted to the MX5; only the Eunos that appeared in the UK. I don’t think anyone would consider the Haynes Manual any competition to Rod Grainger’s Enthusiasts Workshop Manual.

My dad would have driven that around like that until the day it died. The speedo cable broke on our TR6 in 1980. It was never replaced!

Regardless of Auto …have you run a flash code test and checked for damp/water under the passenger side foot well carpet…the ECU lives there and hates damp.
