I’m new to the forum and would like to say hello and ask for a bit of advice.
I bought a new 05 1.8 icon and have had nothing but problems with the front wheel bearings, they have been replaced by the main dealer three times (they said it was a duff batch of bearings) and have now gone again! The last time they were replaced they also changed the stub axle as they said it could be the only other problem. Well obviously that’s not the case and now I’m a bit unsure what to do. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

Surely if it’s been like this right from the start you need your money back, or an equivalent replacemen. A bit more info would be good though, is it both sides, what are the symptoms, how many miles has the car done, have they replaced the hubs as well as the stub axles?

Thanks for the reply. The car has only done 41000 miles so that’s one set of bearings per 10000 miles, they only replaced the stub axle on the drivers side as that side had gone twice and the passenger side once. Hubs have not been replaced. The last time the car was being fixed it was just out of warranty but Mazda did it for free. I’m not sure on the law regarding replacement which is why i was hoping someone might be able to help.
