Well i’ve finally done it, after years of umming and erring, buying sensible and practical, I’ve finally bought my first MX-5 at the tender age of 31!!
I’ve plumped for a 2004 1.8i Sport after weeks of searching for something in price range that was in great condition - just hope I’m proved right now!
I have absolutely no mechanical experience whatsoever but may find myself learning soon, as I’ve always stayed in the comfort zone and bought new cars and swapped after 2/3 years.
All I can say is, last Sunday was the only sunny day we’ve had up here for a week (outside of office hours of course) which allowed me to go out at 7.30 in the morning, roof down and take a 2 hour drive to nowhere over all the twisting A roads through the country - I still cant stop smiling now, what a fantastic driving experience and Im now well and truly hooked, so looking forward to seeing what else goes on in the world of the MX-5!
Welcome from another relative newbie, and yes, we do have a wealth of great roads in t’north, as the 1600 miles I’ve done in the 3 weeks I’ve had the MX has proved [:D] I reckon that we’re in for a pretty good Summer this year, so look forward to those increasing opportunities to get out with the top down. Come to think of it, I think the top’s only been up about 25% of those past 3 weeks [Y]
I am a newbie my self never had a mx5 befor in my life so am looking forward to sunny days with the hood down with the music on just hope the weather is good this yr so welcome have a good one
Welcome to the North West Area. Have a look at our website www.mx5northwest.co.uk. You might like to pop along to one of our two monthly meetings (the Boatyard is very close to Blackburn) or join us on a Sundfay Run.
