Appeal to help donkey sanctuary after sisters seriously hurt in Manchester terror attack
The donkey sanctuary in West Yorkshire has had to close while the woman who runs it recovers from injuries she suffered during the Manchester arena terror attack.
Josie Howarth, who runs the Wonkey Donkey Visitor Centre in Knottingley, was picking up her nieces, Jenny, 19, and Jodie, 13, from the concert two weeks ago.
She was standing in the foyer with her sister Janet Senior when a suicide bomber struck. Josie sustained serious leg injuries and is being treated in hospital in Bolton, while Janet was also seriously hurt. Jenny and Jodie escaped unharmed.
Jenny is now supporting family and friends who are trying to raise funds to keep the business going.
