Help please - Atoto A6 into NC with connects2 interface

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NC2
  2. I’m based near: Sheffield
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Atoto A6 steering wheel controls

Evening all. Im hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I’m fitting an Atoto A6 to my NC and have the connects2 swc interface. I got this combo as I’d seen videos on YouTube showing how easy it is to get working. Alas I wired it like the YouTube video and the steering wheel controls don’t work, even when trying to assign them on the head unit. I’ve tried the combo in the video of Key 1 to steering wheel key#(+), Key 2 to steering wheel key (+) and GND to chassis ground with no luck and also tried all the other combinations shown below. Does anyone have any Divine intervention before I volley the blooming thing back to china?

Not fitted one for a while (not a Chinese brand) but when changing head units from JVC/Kenwood to Pioneer I needed to get a replacement SW control patch lead to make the SW buttons compatible, they didn’t work. Then it was around £7, new lead plugged in and it worked, mine was Connects2 brand.

Dynamic Sounds can probably supply and give info on what you need to get it working, give them a call. I’ve got my parts from there in the past.

Might be as simple as how you first power the swc module up.

From memory it says something about only powering the swc module up after everything else for the first power up only.

Yeah, it tells you to connect the SWC loom to the car loom last so it doesn’t have power before its all connected. Ive done that but still no joy. Did you use the same combo as me? Did you have it wired the same? Im wondering whether my connect2 module is faulty.

I have fitted an EONON Q04 and an Atoto ( not sure of model number.)

Where have you taken the ground wire to ? - I spliced in to the head unit main negative lead.

I connected the ground on the patch lead to the ground on the loom from the head unit, like in the YouTube video. Funnily enough that’s the exact video that convinced me to get this particular combination. Did you use the connects2 module and have to tap your ground in elsewhere?

As stated - I spliced the ground in to the main ground wire for the head unit.
