Thanks!
Next step is to do some underbody tidying/preservation to try and hold off the rot!
Can’t understand why I’ve not bought an MX 5 before-roof down, the most driving pleasure to date.
I’m fortunate to also have a new Civic Type R FL5, but it’s now redundant !
Those recaro seat belts covers look much better than any I’ve seen on line Mick-can I ask where you got them?
I can’t sorry, they came with the car about 3 years ago.
I was going to renew them but then sold the car. Some on Amazon look similar.
I got some plain ones recently for the ND, as I’d noticed the belt was sometimes slightly uncomfortable against the side of my neck. Something I hadn’t noticed with my previous NC2.
They were certainly cheap enough to try, and I’ve been really impressed with the quality and feel of the fabric. They look similar to Mick’s ones, but without the logo
Cheers,
Steve
Thanks Steve
Looks great Tim. Enjoy. I’m 79 and just bought my first MX5. Z sport 2 litre. Bloody luv it!!!
Hi Rob
Glad you’re loving your mx5!!!
I’m 59 but I’ve had a heart attack and 2 cardiac arrests with 8 stents subsequently so I’m hoping I can actually make it to 79
Where about are you ?
Good on you Rob @RobWat. it’s never too old to fall in love with these cars. I’m 73 and I think my NB has saved me far more than the total of its initial cost, repair and upgrade costs than what would have costed otherwise in therapy and potentially future care home fees because of the joy felt when driving along relatively empty B-roads, especially in convoy with like-minded others!! It certainly helps to keep the old grey cells active.
Hi Jota, I’m in Kidderminster.
You must have an iron constitution my friend!
Regards Rob
That sounds like really good training to be a septuagenarian to me!
I hope so Bruce!
I associate Jota with a rather fine Italian motorcycle by Laverda. Exclusive, by price, but well deserved. Surprised to see it pop up here: apparently it’s a name for a dance.
In reality they were over- heavy, bad-handling monsters but they had that Trump-like charisma of being OTT and you just could not ignore them.
The last one I saw in the flesh had a dead sheep strapped to the back end. The guy was part of a Devon biker gang that had come down to party/barbecue at the Ducati place I used to work at. They had come across Dartmoor so I didn’t enquire how the animal had been acquired.
That’s a great story Beryl!
