Hi everyone here

Hi everyone. Hopefully I’ve posted in the correct section, just got the MX-5 out of hibernation and thought I’d join this group as looks interesting

Welcome aboard Matt.

What model MX-5 do you drive?

You should find plenty to do if you keep an eye on the area groups. There’s always something going on.

Here’s to many miles of top down smiles.

Cheers,

Guy

I probably should have guessed from the avatar image :star_struck:

She does look good.

What do you do to your car to get her ready for the season?

Thanks, she is a good example, I’ll do all the usual fluid and filter changes, take pads out and redo with copper slip where needed, with all wheels off on a nice day I’ll pressure was everywhere possible then let it dry out for a few days then clear waxoil to protect her in the future, wheels could do with a refurb as one just blebbing up a little bit, trouble is I have OCD so I always go over the top with everything lol which I suppose isn’t a bad thing, but jobs that should take a couple of hours normally takes a lot longer, I’ve put my new smaller momo flat bottom steering wheel on which is great and I can get in and out a lot easier now, owned for last 18 years but only done 500 miles in that time as never had much free time as i ran my own garage business, but now I’m retired due to ill health after the dreaded big C , I still have my garage with 2 post lift etc etc, which is a bonus, so i just tinker about now when I’m upto it. Hopefully we’ll have a nice summer :folded_hands:

Hi Matt, does it cost a lot to import from Japan? Customs, duty etc? And then getting it registered + modification to comply with U.K. rules? Faisal

Hi Faisal, not sure tbh as I purchased this from BCA in 2008, sorry for lack of info. Matt.
