High flow oil filter's! do they make a difference

I think its perhaps time to get that clutch pedal looked at…

thank you both me and my mechanic friend were wondering how the clutch was adjusted on the 5

There is lots of info on Mellens, specifically Clutch schematics

I googled it and its literally a 5 min job

Theoretically, yes.

My skinned knuckles and back muscle sprain say otherwise.

With hindsight, it would have been easier to have removed the drivers seat so I could have lay in the entire drivers side - feet against the rear bulkhead…terrifying image of fat middle-aged man in an unnatural position.

I could have done without that whilst eating breakfast and checking the overnight updates and emails!!

btw I think I found where the burning oil smell was coming from!

in short, the previous sump plug and washer hadn’t sealed properly and so when I opened up the revs and the sump got hot, poof burning oil smell!

ahh well, I live and learn! or at least I try.

If you can smell oil etc i the cabin, have you checked the gaitors around the gearlever? The rubber is meant to keep noise, smell and heat away from the cabin.

no, it’s not in the cabin its when I got out of the car that I could smell it!

although funny look I’d rather do that than disconnect the airbag plug. I have done enough swearing last time

Yes, but did you break the clock spring during the process?

Guess, what component I will be replacing this evening…
