High lift cams? Cam Re-profiling?

Hi,

 

Does anyone know of any companies that supply high lift camshafts for Mk1 1.8 Eunos Roadster?

Would re-profiling the cams be a good idea or not?

G’day mate, Welcome to the Forum

Without doing a lot of other stuff, gas flow the head, new exhaust manifold etc etc etc the gains from high performance cams does not repay the investment in time/money. A mate, who knows '5s inside out fitted a set, and removed them some months later as a waste of time. If you want to do a total development including IRTB’s and all the rest then that would be an interesting project. Out here in Australia guys are getting some really good gains going that route, but at a very high cost. A quicker route is FI, either a Turbo or Supercharger, with the appropriate controls.

As to the original question, Coltec racing engines in Suffolk would make you a set, I think that Piper cams also do them.

 http:// www.tdi-plc.co.uk will supply Toda cams, in various profiles. There are quite a few Japanese companies supplying cams for the B6 & BP engines.
