I hear you !!
My elderly neighbours and I [65 plus] and I had recent issues with teenage boys. Our road in single lane and coming home from school they would just open all our iron gates so they were across the lane causing a hazard for all drivers
Reasoning with them is useless and nerve racking as there are a few of them and their undeveloped brains will just give your verbal or worse
So periodically I WD40 the hinges on the gate but …oops…‘accidentally on purpose’ did the gate bolt as well 
Had a wry smile when the kid got WD40 on his hands and wondered what he’d touched
Anti-social behaviour as well as mostly ‘doom and gloom’ news is so demoralising
But then I spend time on the Forum and witness so many decent folks on here and I feel uplifted
