Now sorted about the room light, but there is another minor problem
i am trying to unscrew the gear knob but i seems to be VERY VERY highly tightened even I tried my best to twist it with my own hand
has anyone got any tips removing it?
Cheers
Find a stronger mate!!!
will it break some of the parts inside if I get some muscular mate to undo it? or they are really strong and should not be broken?
I am making some kind of light rail on the sill plate so it lights up when doors are opened, does it seem interesting to anyone?
it is really easy to make but if someone wants a guide of how to do it then i can take some pictures when I connect the wires tomorrow
maybe it sounds like some kind of boy racer thing but I just think it looks nice especially in the dark!
My Momo gear knob has a little collar that unscrews to reveal two very small grub screws holding the knob in place?
As long as there are no grub screws holding it in place, then here is how I removed my original wooden Nardi Gear knob.
Hold the shaft with a set of mole grips and then turn the gear knob as hard as possible. I wouldn’t trust the twisting forces to not twist the shaft and damage the linkage without the mole grips.
If you are replaceing the knob and the old one is for the bin, a second grip on the gear knob would help - or use some sandpaper to get a better grip on the gear knob. Fold a piece over in half and have the rough side against your hand and the gear knob.
I don’t see any screws keeping the knob in place and it is really really highly tightened!
mine is original mk2 black leather one, I am going to replace it with a momo one which has got some screws to secure it
will get a big buff mate and see if he can do the job for me![:$]
