i got more than i bargained for at lakeside........

so i went to lakey for a pair of jeans (bargain, well happy with those [:)] ) came home and noticed what appeared to be mud on my passenger wheel arch…on closer inspection turns out that the ape parked next to me has reversed his/her car along mine…nice!

may turn out to be an expensive pair of jeans…

Sorry to hear that mate, there’s a lot of real AH’s around. That looks like it was a plastic bumper scrape, so may well polish out[:|]--------------

Grr I hate this sort of doubly selfish act - selfish to reverse out with so little regard for the car next to it, selfish to not 'fess up and leave details.

My Mk1 had similar damage - if it went through paint it is £200 per panel to spray back to perfect - so £400ish for you. That was at Dandy cars - you may find cheaper.

tbh im hoping the door will buff out with a bit of fuss…the arch is at bare metal so needs a proper job…i spose the good news is it was that arch that had started to bubble up with rust so i may as well do it all properly…just hoping it aint to dear but not the right time for it really [:(]

If it was the arch that was bubbling id get it done properly on insurance with a repair panel or a new arch.
Over the years ive not seen any repaired arches last more than a couple of years before the rust was back. Normally as they repair the bit that needed doing and then the bit next to it that hadnt quite came through pops up.
On my last mk1  a bodyshop manager said that rather than repoair the best thing would be for someone to bump my arch.

Sorry to hear about the scrape. Happend the same to me in my family car last March in a car park in braintree. Unfortunately the other owner hadnt rekoned on me being a weird car person. I remmebered who was next to me including the make model year colour and spec of his car and the brand of one of the child car seats. More importantly i manged to recall all but two characters of the numberplate as well. ( i really must go and see a doctor about this).
Anyway spotted his car in a stroke of luck as knew what I was looking for in another car park in the retail park. Had a good look and there was matching scrape damage on his bumper includign that white powdery stuff you get when rubbing paint - the sort of stuff that would wash away in rain so it was obviously fresh as we had plenty of rain at that time.
I didnt go into the place as i was more than a bit angry but took loads of pictures and pulled my car up to show matching height.
I handed in everything to the police immediately. Police telephoned him about the hit and run (which is a criminal offence not a traffic offence!) and after many months of mucking about etc all paid up over £1200 and all is fixed.
Sorry you didnt see what happened to yours, just wanted to share that sometimes people get whats coming.
