can anyone tell me which is the best induction kit to buy and fit to a 1.8 s ltd fitted with engine strut brace? I have seen the K&N and the Typhoon but not sure which will clear the strut brace. Ideally I would like the pick up point to be moved away from the heatshield from the manifold so that it can have a cold air feed and so that i can later replace the manifold with a nice stainless steel replacement. Have any owners overcome the problem of the strut brace fouling the filter or come up with a nice u bend to allow a cold air feed away from the hot manifold? If so please can you show me some photos so that i can decide which one to buy?

The yellow one looks like a mark 1 but can you confirm if the red one is a mark 2? I like the idea of the red one and not sure if the yellow one utilises existing fixing points for airflow sensor etc. Who supplies the racing beat one?

Racing beat is difficult to get over here, mx5mad are listed as dealers

 

not sure what you mean re my California, only the idle valve pipework needed fabricating

ARC kit is pretty good, can pick them up occasionally for about £250 complete.

I’ve had a Racing Beat and a K&N on my mk2. Gotta say the K&N sounds MUCH better
