I saw THIS cam cover on EBay a few nights ago and something just didn’t look right about it to me. It’s just clicked, It’s advertised as for a 1.8 but I’m sure thats a 1.6 cover.
Some poor unfortunate has already bid on it.
Anyone else want to double check it?

I was thinking about sending him a message but as I wasn’t 100% sure I didn’t want to stick my neck out.
Do you think it looks like somethings been done to the rear end of the cover as well? I’m sure both the 1.6 and 1.8 had some mounting lugs sticking out the back for the coil pack or the cam angle sensor or something.

Does that little “camera” thing in the bottom right hand corner suggest that this picture is a “borrowed” picture and not one of the actual cam cover that is for sale? It may be just a mistake on his part?

If he is so clever, why didn he think to state whioch model it was for in the advert!

And what does he do about the cam angle sensor? (goes in the front and reads off the intake cam sprocket on the MK2)
Because some people believe in “Buyer beware” and “A sale’s a sale”.
But if our very own “Sir Walton of Queensland” says its off a 1.6, Then I’m infinitely more inclined to rely on his knowledge over the information suppled by someone who’s trying to sell us something.
Looks like a 1.8 cover to me. The coil pack mounting bolts were all horizontal on NB, and you can just see the “bridge” for the what would be crank sensor if it was off an NA. The give away that it is off an NB is the small hole behind the 2nd bolt hole on the top, this is where the wiring harness mounts on the NB.
So your cambelt gets covered in the crud that comes through the radiator? Nice.
My initial thoughts as well.
