Sorry if it felt that way, but I wasn’t having a go about your suggestion. Afterall it is your choice, and I’m sure whatever you do you will be happy with it.
I thought ATs description of Marmite fitted sparkle green well. I think it’s a marmite colour in as much as I don’t think it’s a universally good colur. I love it on my MX5, but think I’d probably hate it on any other car I’ve owned. Come to think of it, MX5s tend to look good in any colour, so I’m sure you wont go wrong whatever you choose to do…you just wont have a Sparkly Berkeley anymore. Good luck with it. Ray.
Don’t worry, I didn’t think you were having a go, maybe my last post didn’t come accross as intended.
Odd how some colours work with certain cars but not others. Generally I always go for metallic paint but for some reason mk1 MX5’s seem to suit solid paint, especially when well polished. I also like the smurf blue colour but couldn’t imagine that colour working on any other car.
Smurf blue is another good example. Thinking back I’ve always had reds, blacks & silver/greys in other cars I’ve owned, incluing quite a few sports cars. I was targetting those colours in MX5s when I started looking for one. I wouldn’t have looked twice at a sparkle green car, until I came across the Berkeley. When looking for a 5, I viewed lots in all colours, but when I saw the Berkeley all polished up in the old chaps garage that I bought it from, it was the best MX5 colour I’d seen, and a must have. Everyone to their own I suppose. Ray.
Hmmm yummy, British Racing Green is my favourite solid colour. It looks so ultra cool with two broad white stripes added. Very reminicent of the old racing Coopers. I think an MX5 painted in this livery would look superb. Look at the pic. Now that would be a unique special edition. Probably the only one. Now imagine it with some Minilites… superb! Good luck deciding Mike
