Hi. I am a recently joined member of the MX-5 Owners Club, and I have purchased a 1994 1.8 Eunos Roadster from a very nice chappy from Liverpool. I don’t know yet, exactly what I have bought, but I’m slowly finding out what my Eunos has and does not have. I’ve called it L21, from the reg. The following is what I have found so far.
Eunos 1.8. Vin NA8C112668, Ist reg 01-07-1994, Imported/reg GB, 19-10-2005.[I’m the 2nd owner, GB],Mileage 73269, Colour:-Chaste White. Koni Adjustable Shocks,Lowered springs.[dammed hard ride] Nardi steering wheel, A/C, [that works perfectly], Immobiliser, [buzzing nuisance] Electric windows, [work great]. Undersealed already, and appears like new exhaust fitted, inc cat,. Radio rubbish. Head lights converted to H4’s.
Work done:- New locks fitted,[key broken in the door & remember the Liverpool bit] Bought and fitted hardtop,[soft top ripped, new one got].New Headrest speakers fitted,[big improvement] even with the rubbish radio.
Work to be done:- A good Cat1 alarm, Waxoyl, Respray for the bumbers, Sort out the HRW switch/wiring, Fit new soft top, Radio/CD, and most important, a complete service, I’ll do it myself, then I know it’s been done right, same with the waxoyl. Rear boot stop light wire has been cut, job for tomorrow.
The 1st GB owner did 867 miles, and only in the summer, it was laid up in between the 2 summers he had it. Couple of scrapes on the bumbers, but never been bent/repaired. All in all, apart from a few bits of work that are required, a quite straight and enjoyable car, that goes round corners like it’s on rails. I have to try really hard, and in the wet, to get the back end to break away, and even then, it’s easy to drift round on the fun pedal.
Thats about the lot, don’t know what spec it is, but it’s fun, almost as good as my old Triumph mobikes.
