Leaking Top Hose

Hi

I have a pinprick hole in the Rad top hose. I intend to change it. Is there any problem with just setting the heater to HOT and changing the hose.

Thanks

Hi Gary, it must be the Bombay Saphire…I swear I replied to this half an hour ago.

Moving the heater contol moves a flap, so will make no difference to a leak, not that it would anyway!!! You need to drop a spot of coolant from the rad, just enough so the leveol is below the top hose, then go for it…5 minute job really. Just remember to bleed the air out of the system afterwards or you will have a cold heater…atb===

Thanks, how do I bleed the system?

Thanks again for your sterling help Geoff. I changed the top hose for an MX5 Parts Blue one. Bled the system as in the instructions and all is well. The only problem that I have is that now I have a nice blue hose and all the rest are black, another job in the pipeline I feel.

At this point (and I know that it is off topic, but) I would like to say a big thanks to MX5 Parts. I ordered the pipe and a new set of door speakers on the Sunday after Christmas and the arrived on the following Tuesday. Well Done MX5 Parts!
