I managed to get LED numberplate bulbs for my Eunos (type 832 bayonet type). I bought them off ebay and they arrived yesterday, yeh! I went straight out ofit them and they didn’t fit or light up. I found the following:
1- You need to swap the polarities of the wires. I did this by unclipping the small connector at the base of the bulb holder and forcing it back on the other way round, simple! (once I figured it!!). I knew the LED bulbs work as I bench tested them with a 12v battery, that’s how I remembered LED’s are polarity sensative.
2- The LED lamp head were too big to fit through the bulb holder hole. Simple, there are 2 screws that hold the bulbholder in place, if these are unscrewed the whole holder comes out and the bulb can be pre-fitted and the holder screwed back in.
3- Not so simple, the bulbs were a little long and to get them to fit I had to take metal backing reflectors out, no issue as I just lined the inside of the hole with silver tape.
-Bulbs look good. Like the new BMW’s have! I will post pics once it gets dark…
They’re not too bright, I was worried they would be dazzling (about 20 LED’s on each bulb). Most of the light in the picture is from the camera flash I think.
Very pleased with the look. Would reccomend it, worth a fiver of anyone’s money IMO.
