Locking system mk1 Eunos

  1. My model of MX-5 is: Mk1 Eunos__
  2. I’m based near: Mid Wales marches
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: potentially changing all the locks or getting a sturdier key

The spare key broke off in the door. Recovered. The ignition key is rather bendy too so … we don’t want to lose that one as well.
We’re not mechanically minded.
Should we persevere and buy a load of keys from, say, TIMPSONS and discard as they get too bendy or change the whole system? is there one that won’t cost a second mortgage or is that pie in the sky?
Ty for any feedback in advance

[yes mine in the photo is an nc1]

If you have the original Eunos key, it will have a 6 or 7 digit number on it. If its not there, the number will be on the drivers door lock barrel. From this number, a Mazda dealer can order a new key. Now sure Timpson keys are any more bendy that other keys. Would suggest you investigate why the keys are breaking, or why the drivers door lock is so stiuff, you are snapping keys.

If the only keys you have are aftermarket, the number won’t be present.

Also, Autolinkuk may have a key cutting service:

Thank you.
