Hi All got the roadster out yesterday and finally convinced myself that it has the wobbly pulley syndrome !
Low down no performance then from 3k it goes like a rocket ! new plugs and leads no difference.
it is a early short nose crank so Im considering the repair option
my question is what should I order fromMX5 parts to attempt this :
new woodruff key obviously?
loctite 660 and 273
crank bolt?
do I need a pulley if so the inner timing belt one ?
pulley boss?
do you remove the timing belt pulley if so do I really need a new timing belt and does that lead to a water pump ???
I just would like to try a cheap fix as the car also needs a sill repair for the mot and If I end up doing all the belts and pulley bosses it would be probably better to put a replacement engine in but cant afford that and sill repair so car would be off road for this year body on car has little rust apart from sill but lots of little blemishes so probably not worth spending much on : (
