We are looking for advice on purchasing an MX-5 electric hard top. this is our first venture into sportscars. Up until now it has been workhorses only. We recently retired and are looking for a bit of fun.
We have 7-10,000 to spend and just want to know about any major do’s and don’ts in the MX5 world.
We are looking to join up fully, as soon as we have found the MX5 for us.

Hi and welcome. With that budget you should be able to find a nice example of a mx5. I have a 2006 nc1 and I love it… mine was a project as it needed a few little bits sorting…
Rust in a mx5’s enemy. Just make sure the sills and arches are clear, 2 litre examples seem to be better… also the decision of hard top or soft top…
Prices strong at the moment, but you should get a decent one for that price if buying private
If you are buying from a dealer, then you would be towards the top of the bracket.
