Lumpy Tickover

Occasionally I’m getting a lumpy tickover when idling. Regardless of whether hot or cold, sometimes when I come to a halt it feels like it’s about to cut out then picks up again and does it repeatedly. 2 mins later it might not do it again so there’s no way of knowing when it’s going to happen. I’ll add that when it does it the rev counter doesn’t move. Any advice appreciated.
