Mazda ND - Fixed the rear end instability issue... and not how i had expected

I had that and I mentioned that to BBR. When the car was aligned by them this feeling was gone. But I did get the Koni dampers/shock absorbers and BBR springs from them done so maybe it was that?

Alignment does play a big part, that’s for sure.

Be very interesting to see if you can actually manage to record any movement in the rear without the brace on .
And I’ve felt the exact same thing , just had my 4 wheel alignment done which made a difference but was actually looking at the exact same brace you bought so I’ll be looking for any update you follow this up with , cheers and happy motoring .

thanks for your input guys. really pleased to hear its not just me. i appreciate its hard to describe, as its a sensation felt in the hands, ■■■, and inner ear.

Ive got snow tyres on at the moment, (got literal snow here where i am) so ill wait until the temps come back up to around 5ish for some harder cornering.

I think i know what im going to do for the test. just need the weather. (with snow tyes on. wont make a difference).

Were you able to record any movement to the rear struts with/without brace,
I lost the rear end coming out of a roundabout and have put the blame on the bridgestone potenzas or my bad driving, but perhaps I need one of these.

If it were me, I’d focus on the Potenzas and their replacement before anything else.

heya.

i did try once, but trying to mount a phone, and provide light in the closed boot, wasnt easy. fell off my makeshift mount when i checked the video and never tried. again.

have a little read of my ‘readers rides’, as i also have some summary in there. the biggest fix in the end - which now allows me to throw the car around like a little toy (like it should) was actually the underbody aero. removed lift, traction control issues at high speed, and stability.

i cant really comment on your event of a spin out. could be lots of factors. i drive mine a bit ‘silly’, so i push the limits.

I doubt if I have enough power to experience ‘traction control issues at high speed’.

Yes, I would love the Verus Engineering underbody panels but so expensive in the UK.
I see AliExpress are doing a knock off version of the rear diffuser in carbon fibre probably not the right material for that location, the Verus stuff does look good quality.

im not going through this again John  ive well documented it.
power isnt the issue. yes, traction lights on more in 4th than in 2nd. predictable at 30mph, not at 70mph.

root cause and fix have been posted with numbers elsewhere. nothing to do with power.
thanks
