MIL shows falt code P0037 H02S heater control cicuit low. bank 1 sensor 2 have removed sensor after cat and checked 1. cotinuity across the2 black wires no reading so open cicuit. applied heat to sensor voltage shows .9 volt drops to .1 immediatly heat is removed. does this give the OBD the reason to give P0037?
2005 2.5 vtsport. 17,000 has the original cam belt, should I be changing it?
Did you see this thread and links off it Adrian, it suggests your open circuit heater would be the cause of a P0037, http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=476006
The cambelt is a tough one as no time interval is given afaik just mileage. Our VW diesel did give 5 years max I think but iirc that engine was a disaster zone if the belt snapped so VW were probably playing safe. I’ve just been doing under bonnet checks of our 2006 Mazda 6 this afternoon and the rubber serpentine belt is still fine at 7 years and 60K no signs of cracking on the small vees which is usual first sign of old age. So is our 2005 MX5 Mk3 belt at 34K. I know they’re not cambelts but that would suggest to me that I’d probably leave it to 10 years simply based on the fact our rubber belts aren’t showing any signs of aging at similar age to yours and with more mileage/heat/use.
