Contrary to popular believe a MK1 cover will not fit a MK2 (even if you do change the studs).
Well i must be 1 in a million,because i have a Mk 1 one on my Mk 2???

My MK1 cover would not fit the MK2 just a tad too tight. Design is completely different between the 2 covers.
'Fraid not - plenty in black, tan and even the odd blue or red one, but am yet to see beige/cream 
For sure and ford had a good hand at making them cheaper and it shows,but the quality of the mk 1 one is 10 x better than the Mk 2 ever was,and will far out live a mk2 one.
Don’t disagree, but it’s no use to the bloke it being better quality if it doesn’t fit.

Do they make them in red ? I think a red one on a black car would look quite pretty

The red ones were made for the Mk 1’s only(S. LTD) but it will fit Mk 2’s if you change the press studs for the Mk 1 ones,very easy to do,then you would be two in a million with me

Yet again you are incorrect. The silver version of the Jasper Conran edition came with red interior and actual leather red tonneau cover. Rare as hens teeth (as the car cost £24k). but one came up on the flea a while back.
If anyone has any better pics I’d love to see them.
Vicky, a few years back my brother in law had a local seamstress/lady tailor fashion one for his rare classic…funnily enough in red! We took the old one to her and she used it as a pattern. A good competent upholsterer in you local Yellow pages might be worth a chat…if you can get an old one for a pattern. End of the day…it’s only a bit of fabric and a lot less complex that a dress or suit!

I simply answered the question correctly. Where as I agree (as I said) that the JC ones are rare they do come occasionally. If anyone needs to tone it down it’s you. You have already been threatened with a permanent ban once this week. This forum is not your own private theivedom with no one else allowed to post anything you disagree with.
And as long as you want to play your silly games miles i’ll play them also,do you realy think a ban scares me,i have nothing to lose,as for toning it down thats like calling the pan burnt a**e,the big differance between me and you is i am only on here to help,you are on here as a battle ground.putting people right and putting poeple down is two differant things.and i certainly do not see this as my theivedom???
