I have been competing in a 1966 Triumph TR4A for 9 years, which is now approaching the end of it’s development possibilities, and so will be for sale at the end of this season.
I am therefore considering replacing for next season our 2010 40K MX5 MK 3.5 2.0 RHT Sport Tech in Copper Red with a partly or fully prepared road registered MK1 suitable for hill climbs, sprints, RS Interclub circuit events and track days.
Also, please can anyone recommend any decent performance specialists in the South West Midlands area.
I have a friend living near the National Motorcycle Museum who had an NA and he got the engine tuned at Blink Motorsport in Winsford Cheshire, as he could not find anyone more locally. He had the top end all done - a 1.8 that put out 185bhp afterwards. He used to go to Curborough with it for racing, where it was ideal. Then he sold it and got a 300 bhp turbo NA, which he is “learning”. Basically, there are not many places around there (as far as he tells me)… good luck though
Did Blink not close earlier this year?
I seem to recall the principal suffered a stroke.
I took my ND to have the tracking done in March and they were open then… not contacted them since, but that is indeed sad news if correct (both the stroke and closing)…
Thanks Ian. I haven’t got a Mk1 yet (or sold the Mk3.5!), but no hurry as I can continue using the TR for the time being (Sorry!)

No worries, I am sure the TR is great fun too. Let me ask my friend where he gets his turbo looked at, as he seems to go somewhere as it is always having something done to it! As the responder above states, Blink has now closed, very sad for the owner what has happened…
