Mk2.5 Front Hub Removal

  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Front Hub Removal

I’ve just tried to remove the front hub on my car and it appears to have left the inner race of the bearing on the stub axle. Does anybody have any recommendations on how I can remove this from the stub axle please? There’s not room to get a puller in behind it.

Hammer and chisel to move it or a grinder to cut a groove in it then a chisel to split it.

If you have access to a welder or a gas torch you can run a bead of weld or warm the shell up to expand and loosen it.

Wear eye protection, it’s tough on chisels
