Just bought a 2007 Mk3 which needs a clutch change (among other things) and have been looking around to see if there are any new but unused clutch kits people are reselling which I can buy for cheaper than brand new - I know the 1.8i engine is basically a Ford Duratec engine, so I was wondering if there were any other vehicles which use the same clutch kits that I can keep an eye out for (Mazda, Ford or otherwise)
Ford only used the Duratec in fwd so the clutch maybe different. Lots of kit cars etc use the Duratec but not always with a Mazda gearbox.
Note that 5 and 6 speeds have different number of splines and so not interchangeable. Exedy seem to be used a lot in the aftermarket.
Exedy MZK2116 is the 5 speed and 2117 the 6 speed.
