Awaiting Fitting of the I.L unit
I am new to MX5 ownership, a new member to the club and new to the forum, I thought that I might share with you the recent fitting of the I.L Motorsport Race sliencer to my MK3 2.0l Sport.
The MX5 MK3 is a fine car but the stock silncer does sound rather like a muted Fiat Panda!
In an effort to introduce a more sporty sound more fitting to the MX5 , I decided to ditchthe stock silencer and fit the I .L Motorsport Race twn-box unit.
What a difference… It has transformed the driving experience and encourgaes you drive more “spiritly” when heaing the throaty sound of the exhaust. I bought my unit from MX5 parts, excellent service as usual and fitting was a doddle. I would highly recommend this unit for those wanting a more sporty/rorty sound from their MK3. It is not boomy when running at legal speeds but sounds very sporty when accelerating. I will try to post some sound bites on the web in due course.
