And I’ve bought one of these…
They also have it in black. Received it today - very nice!
All I need now is a car, but the dealer has suggested it might arrive a bit early .

As mentioned above a shorter aerial is likely to compromise DAB reception if you care about that.
Accessories are going to be expensive for a new model until there are more aftermarket options, Rev9 will give you an idea of what’s out there if you can stomach their prices.
There’s plenty of shiny stuff to part you from your cash, if though you’re planning to keep this car in the longer term, as pointed out above it would be a wise investment to have it properly undersealed when new. If you can afford to do this and buy shiny toys then great. The ND has similar construction to the earlier models in the areas that are going to cause problems of arch perforation and probably seat belt mounting points.
If you’re only going to keep it for a short time fill it up with chromed plastic crap and let someone else deal with the problems later
I fitted a proper Stubby from Moss UK on my NC3 and it is better radio than the standard one, it’s made out of a solid billet of alloy I think and looks great.
Where can you get this done reliably and for how much?
Depends very much on where you are.
You can do it yourself with access to a post lift and about £100 worth of materials, probably take about 5 hours all in if you haven’t done it before.
With a helper and some knowledge/experience of stripping out the underside of the car you can do it in about 3 1/2 hours.
Some idea of what to do here:

There are companies who will do this for you for £3 - 400, I would want a recommendation first to make sure the company that is doing it is thorough.
One advantage of doing it while new is you don’t need to stop and convert existing rust before doing the underseal.
Why not get an Owners Club one from the in-house store?
Beacuse I wanted something a bit different and the red apealed to me - and I’m not a club member.
I also bought a similar one for my Mazda 3.
Re Mk.4 mudflaps. Sorry to return to that.
But has anyone fitted them themselves? Was it hard? I’m thinking of fitting the front ones as they seem to have a practical use, but I have arthritis in both hands and find it hard/painful to manipulate small items e.g. screws, nuts & bolts etc… Anybody? Thanks!
They are simple to fit and come with instructions, only you know what you are capable of though so I can’t really say if you’ll find it easy or not.
Hi All,
I know MX5 Parts does one but would like one that is more substantial, an All Weather Custom Made Cockpit Cover.
Have tried a few places but as yet don’t have one suitable for new model…
Any help welcome !
Mazda themselves do a half, and a full cover, but I can’t tell if it is specifically for the Mk 4, even though it is under the accessories for the ‘all new MX-5’. Thinking of getting the full cover with the £150 Mazda sent me for the delays…

I bought the MK.4 half cover through my Mazda dealer. “MX5 Parts” also sell it, and at first glance seem cheaper but add P&P and I’m not so sure. The cover itself fits well and is easy to use. It’s not made of heavy material so while it suits my needs perfectly you’d be well advised to check its suitability to your needs before purchase as it’s not cheap!
Have been looking for sill protectors for my Mk4, as yet Mazda do not make them, why i don’t know.
Have found some online at £120, pricey but they look plastic.
Anyone know of of any web sites to look at?
Try Moss or MX-5 Parts
I have purchased them from MX-5 parts, just under £120 with p&p. They are aluminium , very smart! Just not had an opportunity to fit them!

Like Redfox have got some from MX-5 parts, genuine Mazda aluminium, waiting to fix them. See posts by Rally Tart who brought them to our attention, she’s fitted them and made a helpful posting with photos.
Back to the Mk4 Mud Flaps which was the original post!
Approximately £160 (£250 fitted) for four small bits of plastic that probably cost £2 each to manufacture and will probably be as much use as a chocolate fireguard. I am sorry but that is just ridiculous. Brings to mind the Harry Enfield junk shop sketch “I saw you coming”.
