yep just emailed my mate he said this morning about the size I forgot that I had gone e from 7inch to 8 it was not till Chris on another thread said they where a stretch I still did not twig then the penny dropped he said they will order some new ones in on Monday so get it done next week going 225/45/17 hoping I don’t now have trouble with the 20mm spacers …wheels off wheels on good game … :joy:

Since you cannot get 225/40 tyres for 17 inch wheels, I’m guessing you’re referring to 225/45?

If so then 225/45 tyre is too large of a circumference increase compared to factory fitted 205/45 tyre. Both acceleration and speedo accuracy will be affected.

225/45 tyres may end up rubbing the front wheel liners due unless @exiled-viking reduces caster, potentially resulting in less steering feel.

Yes, I was referring to 225/45/17. I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said there, but it remains the case that a 225 width tyre is optimum\recommended for an 8" wheel.

It’s one of the reasons I wouldn’t personally go with that wheel width on an MX-5. But to each their own. So working backwards, it sounds like a slightly stretched 215/45/17 on an 8" wheel is the best compromise here.

well l have ordered in for Monday 225 Bridgestone Potenza Sport’s for the car so there will be 4 Brand new tyres going up for sale later they have done NO mileage probably knock 1/3 off the price … then repost up all my ND stuff for sale there’s quite a few bits …

225 is too chunky for my liking, makes the car look like a Tonka Truck, I stuck to 215 on my 8Js.

Good drive out around 200 miles on the clock to day but still not hit the 5k miles yet shes 6 years old …top down most of the way… Poped into Royal sterring wheels for my new wheel got it fitted all done in less 30 mins and he got the wheel nut off no problem thank you Jack+team for a job well done …Now needs a good wash …!

New to all this and hoping to collect mine this Friday. Your car is absolutely stunning!
I can only dream of mine looking half this good!
I particularly love the red pin stripes on the body kit, do you have a thread about this at all?
I had a Quick Look through some of your posts but there seem to be a lot of pictures missing

Hi KimmyB, its only red pin stripe bought off any Auto accessory site and just poped it on nothing hard just following the cars lines …

Ok, it looks really cool! Might give that a go!

Well today I got to work on my new project Car Ramps I had theses deliverd yesterday …

But do not want to use the 5ton Bottle jacks supplied I do have two 2.5 ton 12 Volt battery bank operated jack that I have modded to fit the ramps…

I am not too keen jacking up one side then the other with bottle jacks with the 12 volt battery jack I can raise both ~ramp plates together then lock of either side with the bolts for more safety while working under the car …

so updated the locking pins to steel bolts I like to used these as there is little chance of them slipping out of the locking holes due to the threads grip the hole…

made two small aluminium mounting plates to rest the jack on they lay on top of the bottle jack mounting plate and make the job leavel for the 12 volt jack…

weld on a locking ring on the underside of the lift plate so the 12 volt jack can be locked in to the lift plate…

few pics and some vids

plenty of width for my wheels/ tyres

I really like the look of the rear spoiler. Where did you get that? Also, was it a pain to mount?
