Morning all, newbie from South Yorkshire

Hello and welcome from Nottinghamshire Nick… The 25th AE looks lovely. My introduction to MX-5’s began way back in 2006 when working at a Mazda dealership doing demo’s etc. The MX-5 isn’t about the power, though I think they have enough!, but is about the experience, the occasion and how they just make you smile every time you drive them…
I agree, it will become properly yours once the plate is on
Enjoy!
Rob

Hi Nick,
Welcome from sunny (not today) Rotherham. Had my Miyako 2.0 since October last year so looking forward to a summer of MX5 life!

Del

You would have seen me in the Lobster Smack around 1965 !
Nick

Welcome from a NC owner in Cumbria.

Hi Nick where in sunny Yorkshire are you ??
Welcoming you from Barnsley :+1:t3:

Thanks for the welcome Rob, Del, Chris & Bally. I’m in Rotherham. If I see any of you guys whilst out and about, I’ll be sure to give you a wave.

How about a Nod and a Wave! Haha

Hi Nick, Lovely colour, I use to have a mk 1Merlot (limited edition), now have a black mk 3 roadster, keep it polished, looks brilliant!

Thanks Blueowl, I’ve got a Maguires Ultimate Compound, Polish and Wax kit ready to deploy to get it looking it’s best! Just waiting on Logbook to get my private plate on, and then I’ll add a few more pictures.
My 6 Series is Sapphire Black, looks superb when detailed, but gets dirty very easily. I hope your black roadster is easier to keep looking mint! Can’t beat a shiny black finish!

Welcome to the world of MX5’s Nick, Paul at Roddinsons is very good

I also use Miata Motors near Mosborough, they are very good also

Nick

Hi Nick, thanks for the welcome! I did see plenty of Roddisons recommendations whilst lurking on here. Not heard of Miata Motors near Mosborough though. Are they Miata Motors specialists for servicing / repairs, or do they do modifications too?
I’m not looking to do much initially, but might be keen to explore some subtle exterior mods, thinking ducktail spoiler, and then focus on performance improvement, coilovers, tyres, brakes then power.
Have you done any mods?
Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick, I think they might have started off as a Miata specialist but they also work on any car.

I take mine (Mk3) to then for servicing, repairs and MOT as I live close to them

I haven’t had any modifications, mine is a standard car, but I’m sure they would be able to fit any

Next door to them there is a good independent tyre fitter called Staton Tyres that we use

Nick

Thanks for the recommendation Nick. I think I’m equidistant from Miata and Roddisons, so both suggestions are appreciated!

Cheers

Nick

Hi Nick,

No problem, I hope you enjoy your MX5

Nick

I personally use Auto Glym products although Maguires is very good, I agree there’s nothing better than a shiny car ! Enjoy

Welcome to the 25yo Ann club. Had ours 2 years & love it. Just had my wheels Powdercoated Black to match the roof & new Tyres.
Lovely colour Soul Red until you need some paintwork. Its a 3 stage Pearl & a pig to match!!

Looking sweet there R8FUN :ok_hand:t2:

There’s a Facebook group for 25th AE owners. We keep a note of numbers and cards spotted. We try to get together every year for a bit of a do - this year’s event is near Bristol, and there may be space available still. Look us up on Facebook - we are a friendly, if slightly mad at times, bunch!

I am aware of the Facebook group, we bumped into you at a Cars in the park event a couple of years ago & you seemed a very friendly bunch, but I only do individual Forums like this, Type R & TVR as they are the cars we have.
My main go to place is Pistonheads. Just don’t like Social Media like Facebook.

Hi Chris, thanks for the heads up. Like R8FUN, I don’t do social media either. Would be great to meet fellow forum members at some point, but Bristol is too far a trek from Rotherham.
