Hi Guys re the above link its agood un[Y], I have seen it some were there may a problem distinguishing the gearbox oil filler plug with an other plug very close by, I think this may be some thing to do with gear selctors in the gearbox do you have a photo to distinguish which is the filler plug[:|] or can any one advise which is which as I don’t want to end up with a gearbox full of floating gears and I would like to change the g/box oil soon[:D] I have a 2003 Mk2.5 1.8 sport.
This is a Mk2 gearbox, the filler is the large hole in the side----
ps, if yours is a six speed I don’t have a pic, but the filler is probably in the same place.
The plug near the filler you are thinking of is an internal torx head type plug I think. The filler on all 5 speeds is a 14mm across square head and on 6 speeds it’s a 24mm hex head plug.
Oh yes its a six speeder sorry for the delay in responding, its too bl—y cold to get under the car at present[:(]
