MX 5 RF: Retractable Roof Malfunction

  1. My model of MX-5 is: RF mk iv
  2. I’m based near: Towcester, Northants
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Retractable Roof Malfunction. Comes up with this error message. Boot not opening, high brake light not working, roof opens and closes but even when open comes up with error message. Suspect micro switch error on passenger side. Looking for someone who may be able to help fix or whether it is a dealer issue to fix?

You don’t hear much about problems with the roof mechanism on the RF or the NC before it which may be why there’s no response in 24 hrs.

I’d suggest it would be worth contacting your Area Coordinator if not done already to see if there are independents familiar with the MX-5 in your area.

When I had an issue with my NC folding hard top, I came across this business. I didn’t use them in the end because I managed to fix it. Might be worth giving them a call. I can’t recommend them because I have had no direct dealings with them.
