If I were going to add a large ostentatious Bentley to my collection I’d need a new garage to a accomodate what Bugatti allegedly called the worlds fastest lorry in the form of a full fat 1929 Speed Six, I would not part with Madge for it though.

Last summer I picked up my 12 year old grandson from school in my 28 year-old MX-5. The hood was, of course, down. A few days later he said to me “Thanks for picking me up in the MX-5. My friends were really jealous, they think it is really cool.”
Reminds me of another amusing situation few years ago. I was stationary at traffic lights in the town where I live. It was a lovely warm sunny day and the top was down. A mother and her young child walked past on the pavement. The child looked at my car, turned to the mother and said, quite excitedly and loud enough for me to hear - “Look mummy, that car has lost its head.” The mother looked at me rather embarrassed. I just smiled and waved; it made my day!!
