no news yet today is 23rd january.
the assessor has been to look at the car and is going to let me know next week.

today 2nd feb 5pm: insurance assesor called to say all his calculations have made this claim a write off.
he say’s its a cat ‘c’ maybe a cat ‘b’ due to the low value of the car.
so thats that the mx5 has to go. [::(][:(]
i’m not sure when i’ll get the pay out… as it go’s so far its slow but sure.
Hmmm sorry to hear that. You now have to go through the agro of fighting for a decent settlement. No doubt the current crash of car values will effect payouts and yet will have no similar effect on premiums.[:(]
i recieved my payout friday 6th feb… now thats what i call quick.

yes they gave me the agreed figure minus the excess.
i will defo use them again.
the people on the phone very easy to deal with and always called back when they said.
this has been my 1st claim of 10yrs driving so was very worried but aon made this very easy eg no silly written forms no arguing.
the insurance/salvage gave me permission to remove my alarm.
as far as salvage, they said i could buy back for just under £800. but i don’t have time to fix this car.
