Currently paying £140 with Hastings 20, ND. No years no claims. Already happy with the price I’m paying but seeing the insurance on here just wondering if anyone found it much cheaper? And it also says classic car insurance which obviously mine isn’t?
My renewal came at £141 from hasting.2016 1.5 nd. With full ncb and no points. Up £10 on last year but my Renault captur came down £70 on the multi car policy![]()
Is it limited mileage and what post code are you
I’d jump at that ![]()

A very difficult question to answer with any usefulness. As everyone’s circumstances are different - location, age, driving history etc etc.
Have I paid less than that for MX-5 insurance? Yes, on a classic policy with my old NA.
If you’re doing a sense check on that policy price for you, also contact Lancaster, Footman James and Howden. Take the ‘three quote approach’ and you’ll get a good idea of what is a competitive price for your requirements.
Hi.

Oh I wishI had tried hastings, that charge is amazing. My NC renewal recently had me shopping around as my insurer, SAGA, wanted £375. It’s the various mods (no power increase just coilovers, Smart roof PRHT control, rear parking sensors, tyre size change, front grille, drls and heaven forbid - stubby aerial that did for me. There was a gnats whisker between A Flux & P James at £277 but in the end Howdens sorted me out at £224. Lesson to be learned stay unmodified but hey I love my mods. It’s madness in a way because the drls help me be seen and keep me safe, & parking sensors avoid a ding. Happy days but I must remember next year to give Hastings a call.
A. Flux wanted £940 a few weeks ago when i got a quote. 20+ years no claims too and nill points. £600 + just for 3rd party !!
Currently got 2 mx5NB s insured with Saga and Admiral for about £540 each. So anyone getting £2-300 fully comp, grab it and feel happy.
Grumble over.
Hi.
I’m sorry we couldn’t offer a more competitive insurance quotatation.
Regards,
Dan.
I’ve heard nothing but bad things about Hastings, apparently they like to cancel people’s insurance for no good reason.
Here’s my experience after getting quotes for this year’s insurance on my 2018 Z-Sport. Club insurance (Peter James) really expensive £500+ for 6K miles. Adrian Flux £400+ with high excess for 8K. Saga £310 with better excess for 8K.
Hi.
Sorry we couldn’t offer you a more competitive insurance quotation but thanks for giving us a try.
Regards,
Dan.
I was impressed with the club insurance price, (£140ish) but meerkat £20 cheaper. Doing a lot of resto work, car garaged, laid up for winter, etc, so wasn’t bothered about the extras, but will definitely review their prices in future (1996 NA Brooklands edition).
