I am with Direct Line - living in a dodgy East London/Essex postcode and it cost me £242 with Direct Line. Privilege was slightly cheaper but I had a mare trying to confirm a simple point about what constitutes my actual address - so just switched away from them.
On the comparison sites many of the quotes were in the £500 region and the specialist insurer wanted even more and tried for ages to convince to pay the extra!
I haven’t paid more than £200 fully comp on my '05 nbfl for the last 5 years or so. I tend to change insurer every year to try and get the best deal. And if you take out your insurance through some of the cashback sites you can get it a bit cheaper too. I only mention this as I just discovered £50 sitting in my cashback sites account which I had completely forgotten to check up on.
