MX5 owner required for Autocar magazine feature - 6th & 9th March 2009

Hi folks,

As if fame from STHT magazine wasn’t enough for you all…

A request for assistance has come in from Autocar, with details below.  If you can help, then get in touch with Matt.

Forgive the unsolicited intrusion; I looked up your contact details on the MX5 owners club website. I’m wondering if you can help to put me in touch with an MX-5 owner in the west london area who might like to see his or her car featured in Autocar magazine.

We’re doing a special feature on the Top 100 Used Cars, and we’re looking to include a 1.8-litre MX5, registered between ‘99 and ‘01, as one of our ultimate contenders. The car would ideally be a Sport edition in a bright colour, and would need to be available, with owner, for a few hours on Friday 6th March, and then all day on Monday 9th. We’ll need the owner to bring the car to our offices in Teddington on the 6th, and then we’ll be meeting in Chobham village, not far from junction 11 of the M25, on the 9th.

We’re happy to throw in as much fuel as it takes, and also lunch on the days in question. We’re also happy to provide a copy of the magazine in which the car features, and copies of the pictures we take in due course.

Could you have a think if any of the local members have the right sort of car, and ask them if they’d like to help?

 Waheyy, we found someone.

Helen (planet claire) got in touch with them and had a great couple of days on the photo shoots.  If we’re lucky we’ll get a write-up in STHT at some point in the future.  And look out for Autocar on Wednesday, as it should be that issue that Helen’s car features in.

Autocar is out today (17th) and there is a feature called Top 100 Used Cars.  It’s split into 4 sections and the MX5 came top in the ‘Buy before you die’ category.  All four category ‘winners’ were at the photoshoot which is then detailed in a 3 page article.  The MX5 came out as the winner, which we all knew anyway! [:)]
