MX5 the most reliable older car says Which magazine

Sage, respect.

Can you not put a better quality battery on 72 degrees?

What milage does the 2006 have then Watchnut?

The first MX5 club organised meet that I attended in our California, it broke down on the way in to the event, I had to push it through the gate! I think some of the other owners were a bit put out. Anyway it conked out three more times before I worked out that it was the camshaft sensor. No trouble since then though.

My NA has had a Westco for about 3 years It is usually OK. If it became an issue I would use the same strategy as for my Toyota Granvia that stands for weeks. An earth lead โ€˜switchโ€™ and a solar panel charger.

Not an option on modern cars with fancy alarms, immobilisers and delicate ECUs.

Motorcycles tend to use Lithium batteries on small models where the battery size is critical. Not sure if that technology has been used much on cars yet (other than electric ones  ) Thatโ€™s a whole new ball game of possible grief though.

On bikes I generally go with Motobat AGM ones - and a Noco Genius tender.
