Complete mx5 newbie here, I decided it was time for a change after 7 years of Subaru Impreza ownership.
I had a Audi TT before that and a plethora of Fiestas before that.
I am interested in meets in the Midlands and Derbyshire areas as I really need to socialise more.
Unfortunately there will not be to much going on with the car this year as i really need save up for the renovations I was supposed to spend the Subaru money on ( whoops )
Any tips or knowledge would be greatly appreciated
Here she in all her glory my
2017 ND RF launch edition No: 379/500.
Great to see another Launch Edition in Soul red, mine is 472, If you haven’t tried it yet, I would recommend removing the wind blocker, for me it has made the car less turbulent with the top down, especially if pressing on
Hi James… Your car looks fantastic The colour red is a good choice, The Picture isn’t quite clear enough to see if the car has been lowered ? All MX5s sit high off the springs ( too high ) They look more “ normal when they have been lowered ( not an expensive job nor Labour consuming ) You will hardly notice any difference in ride comfort. I had mine lowered 30mm on H&R springs and had the wheels ‘ spaced 25mm The car looked 100% nicer cosmetically … The cost to me was approx £700 and took about four hours At a company called W.I.M ( wheels in action ) They have done hundreds of mx5s and have a fully equipped workshop. Ask for Joe he is their suspension expert !
My car is a 2007 MX5 2Ltr sport in Sunlight silver a fantastic unmarked example, Not even a stone chip or blemish, Enjoy your car James welcome to the club They are truly fantastic cars and the newer ND models are following the trend from what I hear. Best regards from Ray
It is standard all but a stubby aerial for now, I agree it needs lowering and spacing the wheels a bit but that probably won’t be this year at the present rate.
