I decided i didnt like the look of my spare set of wheels, so i started to give them a bit of a clean
Started with paint remover, then went to the drill attachment. Red one from Oakley’s
Paint remover did a pretty good job, but still had a few trouble spots, thats when i used the drill.
Still need a bit more work, but i think they look a lot better than they did.
It took longer to do and i still have another 3 to do!!!
That looks brilliant. But you say it took longer than you thought to do. How long? They do look good in raw alloy though (Just don’t get road salt on 'um ! [:^)]
I did this one over a few days, so all in it took about 4 hours and they are still not finished.
I have been doing the others in stages, so it probably took longer than it should.
I was told to put to use Belgom alu polish to protect the alloy.
I will try to put them on the car next weekend to see how they look. I may decide to paint the inners and leave the rim, not sure yet.
If your going to leave any bare alloy, I’ve heard this stuff’s good…
I managed to get the wheels changed on my car today, got a busy weekend ahead.

Your front and rear wheels are about 36 degrees out of sync in that first picture I think I might have to report this on the old “OCD” thread we had going a few weeks ago…[:D]
Still need to do something about the wheel centres, looking to put some sort of badge in there but i may have to have something made up as its about 75 mm across.
I do have 2 of the original centres but i believe its very hard to find spares.
Does this mean i will have my hands slapped?[:D][::(]
I did try, honest, to get them to be in sync but my right foot [;)]got the better of me when i went to the lane where i took the pictures.[:P]

Or of course, These are 75mm in diameter and might help you understand the OCD aspect of '5 ownership better.
Or on a (Slightly) more serious note, How about 4 of these, flip 'um over, Drill 4 more holes around the edge of each, Do the same to your centre nuts, polish 'um up and fit them with some stainless self tapping cap head screws and thread lock. Job done !

Either leave them like they are or finish the spokes in a gun metal colour IMO

The Wolfrace Sonics that i used to have on my 2.1 Capri,
The 13" RS 7 spokes that my 2.8 Capri (Deceased) is still sitting on and
The 15" Peugeot 205 gti wheels I was going to fit with some spacers to my 2.8 Capri.
There, That should keep you from getting bored [:D].
That stuff is good but I recommend using a lacquer to protect them. They will retain that shine and be protected from road salt and corrosion<o:p></o:p>

Yeah, i’ve been a little busy lately but i still need to a bit more work on the wheels yet to get them to the standard i want.
Trouble is now i have them on the car i dont want to take them off!![:S]
No i dont think i will be offering my services to do other peoples wheels, its too much like hard work…[;)]
