NC dash speaker grille- phone mount for sat-nav

I have been using an old iPhone for sat nav , attached to the windscreen with a sucker-attachment. The added usb sockets mean I can use a short cable, saves wires trailing all over the place etc.

Found this today ( eBay) and have just ordered one.

Thought it would work well with the added usb power supply and look a bit less obtrusive.

Hopefully it’s as good as it looks.

The dash-top grille covers a speaker in the “Bose” equipped models… in other NCs there’s just a big space. I would imagine this mount will work in all types , since there is little or no protrusion below?

Nice idea. I have a spare NC dash speaker grille, if anyone wants a spare to experiment with :+1:

Funny enough so have I- In case I made a mess of the original when I fitted the USB socket:joy:

That speaker grille is a handy access point for temporarily supporting (with string, cable ties, anything) the head-unit wiring up and out of the way when refitting the big lump into the tiny space.

I’m interested - although I actually want to use it to mount a small GPS digital speedometer there, rather than a phone mount.

Bit like this?

Also on eBay, clock/temp/volts etc

Arrived and fitted:

Sorry for poor photo, but there’s a hole as shown in both blocks… using a tiny Allen key ( supplied), it’s possible to adjust the clamps according to what phone is being used.
