Based in the North Yorkshire. Bought my first car about a month ago, an MX-5 NC2.
So far, I absolutely love the car. I was planning on touching up and polishing the paintwork, getting her nice and pretty, doing some basic mods, buuuut I found rust. Lots of rust. I’m hoping I can sort it out, or at least prolong the cars life.
Joining the forum to ask for help, lurk, learn, and help out others as I learn more about the car.

Welcome along, rust is fixable depending on availability of the relevant skills and the resources to make it happen.

Welcome, I also recently bought an NC, a little tip I was advised on is there is a lip under the top of the wheel arches that collects mud etc. and also can cause rust. Hope this helps and you gets yours sorted.
The MX-5 is a great car to learn things on.
If you haven’t got them already I’d recommend getting a basic DIY kit together.
Socket set and spanner’s, trolley Jack and a pair of axle stands, screwdriver with bit set, trim removal tools.
With those you can dismantle 90% of the car if needed.

I’m quickly accumulating tools haha. I’m an absolute nerd and cannot wait to work on the car. Just need a jack and some stands.
