On the NC1 to the front leading edge of the front wheel arch there are what i would term as ‘spats’
(correct me if i’m wrong) and as i’ve never had to remove the front bumper i was wondering if they are removable or not.

Yes, they’re removable. If you take the wheel arch liner off (the lower bit and bend it back a bit) they lift out vertically upwards with two clips holding them in place.
I removed mine on my NC1 last weekend when I fitted a splitter.
