- My model of MX-5 is: 2010 MX-5 NC2 Sport Tech
- I’m based near: Cardiff
- I’m looking for recommendations on: A budget (Around £200) infotainment screen that is compatible with the Bose system. Ideally one that is not flush with the dash, as I believe this creates a more modern look.
Whichever head unit you want to go with, and one of these
Thank you, this is incredibly helpful.
Seconded, that’s the one I used.
But connect the parking brake wire directly to the parking brake, the one on the harness doesnt work.
Pre-out is the low level signal sent out by head units to drive amplifiers.
If you feed the normal speaker level signal in to an amplifier you will burn it out.
Also - the picture you posted is a 9" head unit for a Mazda MX-5 mk3
There are quite a few available online but I don’t recall seeing one with pre-out’s in the spec.
This may be a dumb question, with the adapter harness. Does the head unit need to say “pre-out” on it still?
The adaptor harness is only for power and steering wheel control functions.
Pre-out is a separate thing for sending signals to an amplifier.
Would you be able to suggest a 9 inch head unit? I am struggling with all the options to be honest. As I have no idea what I am talking about when it comes to head units and sound systems.
