Nc3.5 bonnet catch adjustment

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __2011 nc3.5
  2. I’m based near: __
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __bonnet catch

Wondering if anyone knows how to adjust the bonnet catch. Mine seems to sit a little higher than it should at at idle the bonnet latch / catch rattle. I can push the bonnet down and it looks right and the rattle goes away.

So my thoughts are to adjust to suit.

Advice welcome !

Many thanks.

iirc… ??? there are 2 x 10mm bolts/nuts that hold the catch ,
mark where the catch sits against the bodywork with a pencil ,then just slightly undo the nuts/bolts and tap down the catch with punch + hammer ( or similar ) until it moves 2mm,
re-tighten bolts/nuts and try bonnet … repeat as necessary .

Also, there are rubber bungs/ bumpers either side that can be screwed in or out to stabilise the bonnet and stop it rattling.

Thanks guys. That’s a good help. I’m sure it’s the catch as the bonnet sits a little high at the front.

Will have a go in the morning

Just adjusted the rubber stops as mentioned. No more rattling bonnet.
