Agreed. I have CTEK comfort connectors hard wired directly across the battery on all my cars and I’ve never had any issues.
Pardon my ignorance here, but I also suffer battery going flat parked on drive. I won’t take it out on salted roads so do have problems. It is a one year old GEL battery . Are the chargers etc. suitable for GEL.
The optimate 4 says lead-acid .
I do know that GEL batteries have to be trickle charged with very low Amps. Your help as ever is always welcome
Gel batteries are still lead acid technology. They are quite common on motorcycles, but rare in cars.
