- My model of MX-5 is: ND 2.0 160ps
- I’m based near: Gloucester
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __
Have any other ND owners found the time from the fuel warning light coming on to there apparently being 0 miles range very short?
Fuel light came on when I was 6 miles from home.
The manual says 2 gallons are left at that point, so as I was averaging 35mpg, that should be approx 70 miles?
About a mile from home, The dash reports 0 miles range?!

Yeh I have gone past on 1 occasion but didn’t run out of fuel, forgot to see how uncharted it too to fill
I guess it’s better that way instead of running out, don’t know if it can be programmed ?

Thanks for the advice.
It’s a 45 litre tank, so I’ll see how much goes in when I fill it now.

On the way to the garage to fill up the other day, the fuel light came on and stated I had 26 miles range.
Filled to the brim it took 33lt, I guess it lies about the range left.
As its about 12 miles to the garage as soon as it gets close to the 1/4 mark I fill up. That’s after covering between 160 to 200miles

Plenty of chat about the amount of fuel left when the range reads 0, on the Miata forum, they seem to think a good 50 miles can be had after the range says 0, I have done 25+ miles after reading 0.

Just filled up from supposedly 0 miles, it took 39 litres.
The tank is quoted at 45 litres, so I had 6 litres left.
Fuel light is very cautious then!
