Decided that life is too short not to have a MX-5 in it and plumped for an ND2 1.5. A low mileage, 2023 Kizuna.
I test drove a mix of 1.5L and 2.0L models although I’d set out to get an ND 2.0L model. I couldn’t get on with the ride quality on the 2.0L as I found the sports suspension on 17”s with Bilsteins too harsh and unforgiving. I’m getting too old to drive uncomfortable cars so the 1.5L it is.
Collecting next week. In the meantime, here’s a pic of the unprepared car.
Welcome from Newcastle-under-Lyme ……you won’t be alone on this Forum…….many a silver surfing poster here
I find my NB pretty comfortable………until I hit a pot hole……then it’s a good job I’ve got heated seats because I can turn the air inside blue with my language
Collected the car today. They’d spruced it up and I noticed some paint chips which I hadnt previously noticed. Pity but its two and a half years old so not altogether surprising.
Compared to my daily, an Audi estate with plenty of poke, the MX-5 is impractical, sluggish, unrefined and uncomfortable….. And I like it… a lot (-;
Hoping ‘like’ will turn to ‘love’ with your ‘new to you’ MX-5 because from the pics it’s one very good looking ND
And you did your due diligence and research before hand so this particular MX-5 ‘spoke to you’
“Hi Dad……it’s me ……I’m the one”
I bought Bullit [2005 NB] with far less attention back in 2007 ……went into Car Craft Leeds to buy a sensible ‘Estate car’………saw Bullit……drove her around the car park for 10 minutes
AND we’re still together in 2026 [after welding, new cills, undersealing and she’s in a queue for new rear wheel arches and respray]
It was a shock to the system driving an MX-5 after a 1.4 Renault Clio !
You sound like a natural MX-5 ‘er……focusing on what needs to be done…. ‘paint chips’
If I fail to save Bullit from Rust Heaven………the ND would be my first choice
Meanwhile ‘Looking foward to getting to know the forum’
You’ll have to excuse some of us regular posters who mostly have never met in real life……we do tend to have a ‘tongue in cheek’ sense of humour and can take the micky out of each other
I’m sure my relationship will grow once I’ve driven the car more. It’s not stopped p*ssing down since I got it home, when the cover went straight on.
Yep, I did research it to death tbh. Set my budget and drove 2 ND2 1.5s and 2 ND2 2.0s as well as other 2-seaters, which turned out to be overpriced lardar*es
Bullit sounds like the old Beetle I had, no expense spared to keep her on the road.
Yes, properly focused, haha - paint chips and a small indentation on the leading edge of the soft top where the previous owner hadn’t opened it correctly, allowing it to rub against the driver’s side hoop. Grrrr.
Fire away with the p*ss taking, haha, I’m used to it, I’ve been a member of other car forums for donkeys years.
Katakana usually used for foreign words, for example, cake ケーキ and coffee コーヒー, and onomatopoeia words such as woof woof ワンワン. Often scientific words are written in Katakana and it can be used for emphasis instead of Hiragana or Kanji.
